@ron3117, welcome to the forum.

I suggest using Revo Uninstaller (FREE version) to uninstall HP Support Assistant.  I have used it for years to uninstall those difficult apps and programs.  Then, install the latest version here to see if that solves your problem.

Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

I tried to remoce the HPsupportassistant with the file TRvo Unistall.

Revo cannot find the file.

If I go to Control; ,Alt, Delete I can see the file but cannot delete.

I am missing the file HPsupportassistance.MSI

I would try to reinstall HPSA without removing the existing version.  This may work.

This file is embedded within the installation app for HPSA.  I don't believe that your will be able to find it.

I suggest booting in Safe mode to see if you can remove the original HPSA.  I have included a guide to help you.

You are very welcome, @ron3117.

Before taking the computer to a shop, I suggest doing a full HP System Recovery.  This is always a last resort, but it normally solves many problems at the same time.  It returns the computer to its original configuration.  This removes a lot of glitches that possibly occured while installing and uninstalling apps.

I do this at least once a year because I like the way my computer runs when it is in new condition.  Here is a guide to help you with the Recovery.

I started to the system recovery.

Message comes back that I counted 10 apps would be removed and would have to go to play store.

I cancelled the recovery

Thanks for your help

@ron3117, I see your point!

This is actually why I don't buy a bunch of apps for my computers.  It is not if a computer will fail, it is when a computer fails.  Then, we have to try to get them back without a lot of hassle.

I don't know of any other way to solve your problem.  We have tried the two time tested solutions.
