How to connect HP Envy 700-074 desktop to HDMI port on nw smart 4K TV?

HP Recommended
HP Envy 700-074 desktop
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

Everyone,

How do I connect my HP envy 700-074 desktop with Windows 8 to an HDMI port on a new smart 4K TV (I'll be buying) since I do not see an HDMI port on my PC?

From a SPEC list: USB 2.0 & USD 3.0 & DVI-D & DVI-I mainly

Do I need some kind of USB-C to HDMI display adapter (I read about)?

Please help as I am no expert.

Many thanks.

Steve

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

You could try a DVI-D or DVI-I to HDMI adapter.

You will not have TV audio. You will have to use an analog audio port located on the PC's rear I/O shield and connect audio cable to desktop or bookshelf speakers. Or the TV may have audio in jack matching the 3.5 mm cable used to connect PC audio to speakers. Check the TV specs for audio connection options.

Or use optical audio out on the PC if the new TV supports this connection.
