You're very welcome.

Then you would want this one...v3.07.

Hi:

You would need to install the applicable BIOS update that corresponds to what you have installed now.

There are vPro BIOS updates and non-vPro BIOS updates.

HP Compaq Business Desktop System BIOS (786E1 BIOS)

HP Compaq dc7700p Business Desktop System BIOS for Intel vPro Technology (786E1 BIOS)

For example:  if you are currently at BIOS v1.05 - v1.15, you would want this file (non-vPro) v1.16

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54001-54500/sp54368.exe

If you are at BIOS v2.09 - v3.05, then you would want this file (vPro):  v3.07

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54501-55000/sp54656.exe

These files were written to be run in Windows Vista if you were planning to run the windows based flash.

I suggest to be safe that you use the F10 Setup BIOS flash method to update the BIOS so that you are not in windows.

When you run either file, and information page will open giving you the various methods to update the BIOS.

Looks like mine is well  behind then, is there a list anywhere to show alterations made?

Thanks from Davidt

Yes, there is, but unfortunately, it is empty...

3.07

- Improves security of the BIOS flashing process under certain circumstances by adding a stronger flash process verification algorithm.
- Updates the Intel Processor microcode to the latest versions.

Thanks anyway for looking, my favourite was an Intel based board made in Fiji for now defunct companies who could mix and match memory with CPU to give a wide combinations, its primary problem was that it kept forgetting to check on its mouse.

The one I had was about a version 9 bios and was a "XXXXX" to work with so downloaded its latest bios and it was just over 50!!! curious looked at its prior update which cured another issue but was reversed again due to an old problem showing up.

Needless to say Intel distanced itself from this board so giving up on it..............
