I followed all the directions from https://support.hp.com/nz-en/document/c00007682 on how to updates my BIOS.  I could not find the the BIOS update to download, however, since my SSID is 2B36, and 2B36 is not available at the product page: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-750-100-desktop-pc-series/8499646/model/850...

HP said it was OK to go ahead with the BIOS update that I had found on a similar model. If you haven't update the diagnostics on your PC then I suggest that you do so if an update is available. Run a full set of diagnostics and make sure that your PC is stable before attempting the BIOS update.

Hi,

Try using the HP Support Assistant (HPSA) to download a possible BIOS update.  Sometimes HPSA will find BIOS updates that are not posted on the web site if any are available.  If HPSA does locate a BIOS update then download it manually via HPSA.

Would this show up under Updates Available?  I downloaded HPSA and it's only showing two available updates, neither are for the BIOS.

Hi,

It appears that HP hasn't posted any updates for your particular motherboard based on your HP product number. It might be something that was overlooked.

What is your current BIOS level?  I can look around and see if a higher BIOS level is available.

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

There is a higher level BIOS posted under another model.  I'll ask HP and see if HP will post under your model.  It might be a problem if the higher level BIOS wasn't tested on your model even though the the SSIDs are the same.  You might not want to try this higher level BIOS unless HP indicates that it's OK to do so.

Thanks!  Even though it's probably okay, I'm not going to risk updating unless HP says it's fine (or posts it under my specific model of PC).

HP indicated that the newer BIOS update will be posted for your PC. I don't know when so keep checking.
