No sound from rear speakers in 5.1 surround system

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion Desktop 550-045t, Product# MOK51AV#ABA
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Have an HP Pavilion Desktop 550-045t with Windows7 (64-bit) Professiona l.  Just acquired a  BA7800 Boston Acoustic music system with 5.1 surround speakers. Sound comes out just fine from the two front speakers using the Realtek HD audios ystem but NONE from the two rear speakers or the subwoofer, although all the speakers except for the woofer test OK for sound in the Realtek 5.1 configuration step. This has been the case for the last three weeks me trying just about any applicable suggestion offered by by both frustrated novice users and helpful experts in all availabe forums on this subject. Nothing has worked so far! Therefore, if anyone out there has the magic solution to this widespread issue, please let me know and will prove my gratitude by sending you a generous  contribution to your personal "cause"...  AAmen!

My best guess at this point is that in all the reported cases, the problem is due to deficient software compatibility. This is because all of them offer different solutions that seem to resolve this issue for their individual applications. All of them point to the important critical role played by the compatibility of the software with the motherboard used in the computer.

Cheers & Salutations!
