@SteveSlate,

Your 500-164 had a 2TB drive, so I want you to keep that size.

1) Win 10 is a free download.  Go here and " download tool now"  to a 16GB  USB3.0 thumb drive.  Follow the instructions for install WIN 10 on a different PC.

2) Do not format the new drive, just swap it out.   Connect your internet cable.

3) You will need to change the boot order to make the USB boot.

4) Boot from the USB device.

5) Skip the "enter" product key message.  It will auto activate with an internet connection.
