@Waley

Do you have any information about why the memory error with the Game Hub?

Update: System restore got Gaming Hub back again, but now it loads really, really slow. (memory error persists)

Had a minor epiphany - When I received the machine, I seem to remember that the older Omen Command Center app was originally installed, then it was updated to the current Omen Gaming Hub, and that's when the memory errors started. Is the older OCC application still available to see if that fixes the memory error problem?

Its no longer supported and not even available to download from HP. HP began using the MS Store quite a long time back and those files are not available for access. The only version I have saved is very old before from 3 years before your system came out and I doubt it will work on yours. I can look up the files needed but it will take me an hour and I have to get to work now. Ill have to look for it tonight.

Sorry the agent never responded, but I have a feeling they're gonna tell you to reinstall windows as no one else is reporting the same issue. Sounds like something has corrupted in your system but I would not know what.  In the end, it might be faster to do so rather than wait for HP?

You can also report the error (with log files) via the feedback button in the bottom left corner of the Game Hub. They will see it, but probably wont respond though.

Thanks for the offer but don't worry about trying to find those old files for Command Center, you're probably right about won't work or be stable, and I probably will ultimately end up doing as complete Windows re-install. Thank you so much for all your help!! 😃

Real quick while I'm on lunch :)...

There are two options for doing a reinstall as I personally don't like using the windows reset function. It still wipes your installed programs but doesn't always clear problems. I recommend a clean install.

 1. the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (how to use) .  It will wipe the drive and reinstall all the partitions as it was from factory including the UEFI Diagnostics partition and HP drivers, etc. Requires a 32GB USB pen drive.

Or

 2. the Microsoft Create media Windows 10 tool. You will manually have to choose Custom installation and delete all the partitions (the Diag partition will no longer work so you might as well clear the space), then let it continue. It will download drivers but not all the HP stuff you had before. 8GB pen drive required.

Tip: if you installed other drives for storage since your PC purchase, disconnect them first before installing Windows.
