HP ENVY 5540 All-in-One Printer

An old printer, that I no longer have, is still showing under my  "Printers" on HP Smart.  I want to delete this printer from my account.  The printer is showing as offline.  I click the "manage printer settings" under "printer options" and am just taken to "add a printer" web page.

How can I delete this printer so it no longer shows on my account?

Note:  Printers that are / were subscribed to Instant Ink might resist being removed and will remain in the list.

Device renaming in the Dashboard does not rename the printer in Devices and Printers (Windows)

If you do manage to find the unwanted device in the HP Support Assistant application and remove it,

If, after the unwanted device is "gone",

If HPSA won't let go of the device,

(then)

Uninstall the HPSA application

Restart the computer and log in

"Get" and install a new copy of the app from Download HP Support Assistant
