Small images print in centre of page, what a waste of paper. Reposition at top and reuse remainder.

No error messages.

I just want to stop wasting paper with small images printing in the centre of a A4 paper.  Why can't I position it to print at the top of page so the remainder can be trimmed and reused for another small image ?

The software you use to submit the job to the printer tells the content where to appear on the paper.

Solution: 

Use software that allows you to control the location of the printed content.

For example,

IF HP Smart for Mac includes "Multiple photos per page", a single photo printed can be "moved" to the upper left corner.

I do not have a Mac.  The following is from the Windows version of HP Smart.

The Mac version, even if it supports the "Multiple photos per page" feature, will perhaps look much different. 

The point of the example is simply to illustrate the feature and a possible result.

Open HP Smart

Select to print photo

Open / Select the photo to be printed

Select Orientation

Select Paper Size

Select Photo Size

Select a Layout

Borderless Printing

Check / Adjust settings in More Settings

When ready, Print
