I'm trying to set up HP Easy Start on a new laptop. I've downloaded the Setup files and gone through the wizard a dozen times. The drivers have downloaded just fine, the network setup is fine, I skip past the fax setup. I get to the point where it says "Install the latest HP Easy Start Software" and has a button for "Get Software" (don't get me started on why the software wasn't in the setup file I already downloaded!!!!!). Clicking on that button, it tries to open a web browser and I get the error message "We're sorry, we don't support this browser." I did some research and see that HP wrote it open only IE. I tried downloading IE, no luck - IE automatically opens as an Edge browser even when I check the default browser settings to never open in Edge. I believe it's a Windows 11 thing - there's a "feature" in Settings/Apps/Optional features that automatically "enables Internet Explorer mode functionality in Microsoft Edge" every time I try to download IE. I can't figure out how to un-enable it and keep IE. So I'm stuck with this pop-up window always opening in Edge and not working. I tried the "copy link to clipboard" link and pasted it in both Edge and Chrome, but all I get is either a 404 error (page not found), or a Spinner page...it takes me nowhere. I'm stuck not being able to complete the setup. I don't understand why the downloaded setup file doesn't contain the actual software I need - why do I need to go through this wizard in order to GET to the software download? It doesn't make sense. I do not understand why this has to be so complicated, or why an IE bug like this has not been fixed by HP. Please help. I just want the software!

Hello HP Support,
Please tell me what I do wrong.
1. I selected the first option:
2. Manual connection:
3. Network connection:
4. Connect network cable:
5. IP address...:
6. Driver is (seemingly) installed:
7. Select options:
8. Activate? What do I have to activate?
9. Download software? Why? I already downloaded and installed the software!
10. HP does not support this broswer???
Please don't tell me, which browser you support! That would be too easy!
First I tried "exotic" browsers like "Google Chrome" and "Microsoft Edge":
11. Okay, copy the link...:
12. Ah, you have to use Internet Explorer! And then: Surprise!
HP, I would really appreciate a solution.
