Hello Coldcreature22,

could you please remove the bios battery and test it with a multimeter (direct currect DC mode),

if there is ~ 3V present, if not replace it with a new battery (CR2025 or CR2032).

Take a look at this guide ( old but good )

Hello Coldcreature22,

Unfortunately you have landed in the wrong forum. Notebook questions are answered here, but I'll help you anyway...

The right forum for desktop pc is here:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktops/ct-p/DesktopPC

In my personal and objective view, the update of this model is no longer supported by HP.

=> The following points out:

The specification of your system is here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02619244

So the product number is: XH761EA

Release date: 31-Aug-2010 (very old system)

In the Section Motherboard for your MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E)

(broken linkhttps://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02014355

Official HP Desktop Drivers and Software Site:

(not found) HP Pavilion Elite HPE-470uk
(found) HP Pavilion Elite HPE-500 Desktop PC series

Thank you for your response. I understand that my pc is no longer supported but that doesn't fix my bios error.

It says bios error and it needs to be updated when booting up.

Thank you so much it works.

I do not know why I did not think of just changing the battery in the first place.

Thank you for the reply but it turns out it was just a battery that's causing the error.
