where to store photos and documents on my PC

HP Recommended
pavilion 570-p016an
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I`ve just purchased the Pavilion 570-p016an. I want to put my photos and documents on this pc but not sure what driver to put them in. On my old HP pc everything went to the c drive but I think its the D drive on this pc. If it is can I change settings so my documents and photos go to this drive and will they still be as accessible. Thanks

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Since you're now running Win10, everything is going to look different than it did in prior Windows versions, including the "drives" contained in the PC.

So, to begin, click on Settings, then  go to System, then select Storage.  That will display a list of "drives" in your PC.

It's not unusual for the "D Drive" in new PCs to be a Recovery Drive, and if that is the case, you do NOT want to store any files there, at all.

So, you need to tell us the list of "drives" in your PC before we can advise further.

OK, thanks for the details.

Then, you can feel free to store whatever you want on 😧 -- as that is not the Recovery drive.

Just be sure to change your Browsers and all Apps to use 😧 as the default drive, else stuff will continue to get written to C:.
