HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-a071a (Touch)

I have a HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-a071a (Touch) and I want to connect my work laptop to use the desktop computer as a second screen - it only has an output HDMI - is there some kind of converter plug i can use to achieve this?

I have tried hook up through various docking stations but it still wont appear or be detected by the laptop.

PLEASE HELP 😞

or is there anyway to hook it up wireless? the computer approx 8 years old

You can project your laptop to any WiFi enabled system such as TV or Monitor with WiFi adapter
Some TV are smart but others need a dongle such as ROKU or Microsoft.

This link here gives instructions on adding a laptop to desktop as a monitor or vice-versa using Wi-Fi
Android can also do this as shown here

Thanks for the reply.

Will it only project the screen or will I be able to use it independently and have diffent work pages on it

Once you are projecting on the screen you can select "mirror" or "extend"

This will either duplicate the screen or give you a second display.

Note that WiFi will lag.  A USB2/3 adapter will also lag but not as bad as WiFi.

You would not want to project a game to a larger monitor using WiFi but it would work nicely for web browsing,  Office apps or anything other than a first-person-shooter game.
