HP Pavilion Slimline s5310t CTO Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have an old unsupported HP Pavilion Slimline desktop PC (late 2009). I can still use it and has been okay but lately I've noticed something peculiar. When I'm working on something (sound or video editing) and I leave it idle, even for only 1-2 minutes, the screen display goes black, yet the computer keeps on working regardless of the power setting when the computer should 'sleep'. I can still continue and finish my project but it's just peculiar and annoying.
I've updated the NVIDIA GeForce driver and had installed an identical video card I bought from an eBay seller; but the problem is still there. Can anybody suggest a way to resolve this problem?

@pogee -- within Windows "Settings" (or "Control Panel") select the "Power" app.

Your settings could tell Windows to "power-down" the screen after a few minutes of inactivity, to use less electrical power.

There is another setting for how many minutes of inactivity for Windows to enter "sleep" mode.
