Hi @ver_bad_laptpop,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing issues with your HP Laptop PC 15 where the laptop screen is blank or blinking, but an external monitor works fine, it indicates that the problem is likely related to the laptop's internal display or its connections. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Check Display Settings:

  • Press the Windows key + P to open the display settings.
  • Ensure that the correct display mode is selected (e.g., Duplicate, Extend, Second Screen Only).

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Go to the Device Manager.
  • Locate the Display Adapters section and expand it.
  • Right-click on the graphics driver and select "Update driver."

Check Brightness Settings:

  • Sometimes the screen brightness might be set to the lowest level. Use the keyboard shortcut or settings to increase the brightness.

Boot into Safe Mode:

  • Restart your laptop and boot into Safe Mode. If the screen works fine in Safe Mode, it could be a software issue.

Graphics Settings in BIOS:

  • Enter the BIOS or UEFI settings during startup (usually by pressing Esc, F2, F10, or Del).
  • Look for any display-related settings and ensure they are configured correctly.

Reinstall Graphics Drivers:

  • Uninstall the graphics drivers completely from the Device Manager and then reinstall the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure that your operating system is up to date with the latest updates, including graphics driver updates.

Perform a System Restore:

  • If the issue started recently, you might consider performing a system restore to revert your system to a point where the display was working correctly.

Inspect Display Cables:

  • If you are comfortable with it, you can check the internal display cables. In some cases, the cables might be loose or damaged.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
