Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

So 2 days ago, my screen brightness keep dimming itself, and there's no brightness option in setting for me to turn it back on. I also tried to find "adaptive brightness" and there's none for my desktop. What can I do?

Thank you for the information. 

 

Let's try these steps now:

  • Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.
  • Check the box that states delete the software for this device.
  • Then restart the computer and update the bios chipset and graphics drivers from this link: http://hp.com/drivers  Select the country and type the product# of the unit. Then follow the onscreen instructions.

Now check for issue resolution. If it continues, then perform relevant steps from this link: https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c00832191 (HP Notebook PCs - Display Is Dim or Difficult to Read (Windows 10, 8, 7)

  • Run all the latest Windows updates and ensure that they are installed correctly.
  • Then run all HP support assistant updates and ensure that they are installed correctly on the machine.

Now check for issue resolution. If the issue continues, then create a new local user account as an administrator  from this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/instantanswers/5de907f1-f8ba-4fd9-a89d-efd23fee918c/create-a-loc...

Log into the new user account after restarting your computer.

Now check if the issue gets resolved in the new user account.
