h8-1280t

Sorry for selecting "A product I do not own". I actually do own the h8-1280t. Just couldn't add it to my profile because it's so old HP didn't recognize it when I put in the serial and product numbers. Also, picked Others and no good for this post so I selected Win 11 even though my desktop is Win 10.

So, let me get on with it.

I replaced my HP Pavillion desktop with an HP AIO. My intention was to connect the two and transfer some files, then wipe/format the hard drive. Fail. Wasn't able to connect on network. So, I uploaded what I wanted to One Drive and accessed those files from my new AIO. Now, to the frustrating part

I have been trying for 2+ days to wipe or format the hard drive. Tried all the ways built-in to Windows and others suggested by Windows Community. Can't.  I opened Explorer, right clicked on C. then "format" and it said You cannot format this volume as it contains the Windows that you are using. So, I downloaded two software programs to get it done. Still can't. I used Disk Wipe and finally was able to reformat Build E but when I try to wipe/format C:, this is what I get

rsz_20240521_174223[1].jpg

I have no idea what is meant by "cannot lock the drive" and The volume is still in use.

I tried to contact the software company but no link or email.

Anyone have any idea why I can't wipe or format C:? T
