Connect second monitor(not touchscreen) to HP Envy 23 - All in One

The same question was posed on a previous post but the response was not helpful. Previous user posted the following question:

 

"I have the HP ENVY 23- All-In-One Touchscreen w/no tower.  I would like to add an additional monitor for work purposes to drag multiple screens from the desktop - in order to utilize multiple program systems w/o having a condensed page to view.  The second screen will not be touchscreen.  I noticed that the Envy monitor only has an HDMI IN port w/multipe USB ports?? What do I need to run the addtional monitor as far as cables/connectors and do I have to download anything else along with purchasing wires/cables?  I am running Window 10(64-bit).  Please help!!"

I have the same specifications as the above (for detailed information https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04428032). I did the following and no success:

1) purchased HDMI TO VGA

Firstly what is your HP Envy 23 - All in One ? Please check its label at the back. Not all HP Envy 23 - All in One are the same.

Machine only has HDMI In. To be able to connect to an external monitor or TV, you need HDMI out. For example

So i would need the following
1) USB 3.0 to HDMI Audio Video Adaptor Converter Cable for Windows 7/8/10 PC 1080p
2) HDMI to VGA adaptor since I only have a VGA cable
Or
HDMI to DVI-D cable?

Since your monitor does not have HDMI port, you can use USB-DVI, for example
