Hi.
I am trying to connect my laptop to an old external monitor. I am using a usb type c to vga adapter to connect but it is not working. It is not visible when I look at display options. Does this type of adapter even work with the Pavilion model 15 cw0509na? Or should I use a HDMI to VGA adapter?
Thanks.

It is much better to use HDMI to VGA converter. USB-C to VGA won't give you anything better, only wasting USB-C port.
