HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-xa0070a
Microsoft Windows 11

I've tried connecting my laptop to my HP All in One via a HDMI cable which I've plugged into HDMI in on my HP. Under Advanced Display Settings, my laptop is showing Display 1 as Internal Display and Display 2 as HP All In One so it appears as though it's connected. However, it's not appearing on my HP and both devices are saying that it can't detect another display. Can you please advise what I can do to resolve this so I can extend my laptop screen across my HP Pavillion?

Thanks!

Hi @LCJ_10,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you would like to use your HP HP Pavilion All-In-One - 24-Xa0070a PC as an external monitor. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

Make sure the HDMI cable is connected and now you may press the "Display Source" button, sometimes labeled "HDMI" or "Input Switch."

The source button is usually located at the bottom of the computer.

Thanks for your response. I've looked at my computer - on the bottom and at the back - and I don't have that display source button. I have an HDMI-in and HDMI-out and have plugged the cable in to HDMI -in.

I’ve figured out the solution. Go to HP Display Centre and go to HDMI. That will switch from the all in one desktop to the laptop screen where you can either mirror r extend displays. You can return to the all in one by pressing ctrl + shift + s + d
