HP ProDesk 600 G5 SFF Desktop Computer, Intel Core i5-9500 to 4.1GHz, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, - no VGA input. Bought a VGA to USB-C adapter and plugged it into the front of the computer USB-C but the monitor isn't connected. Any solutions?

According to the specs at the link below, the front USB-C port does not support video out.
HP ProDesk 600 G5 Business Desktops PC
Some models offer an optional third video port connector which provides the following choices: DisplayPort™ 1.2, HDMI™ 2.0, VGA, or USB Type-C™ with DisplayPort™ Output on MT/SFF/DM.
However, even if your PC had the optional USB-C port, it still wouldn't work and that is because the display port cannot convert a digital signal to a n analog VGA signal without some kind of adapter.
You could try connecting your monitor to a Display port to VGA adapter if you can find one that will do the conversion.
I thought that those adapters were pretty expensive but according to this listing on Amazon, this model can supposedly do that.
Read the reviews before you decide to buy one because I saw this:
Customers say
Customers find the DisplayPort to VGA adapter works great, is easy to use and install, and offers good value by saving money on docking stations. The adapter allows connecting two external monitors and is compatible with GTX1050 GPUs, though some report it doesn't work with HP and Lenovo computers. Customers report issues with screen flickering and blackouts.
You must have a very old monitor if it doesn't even have a DVI output.
I have old Dell business class monitors from 2004 that have both VGA and DVI outputs and you can use a Display port to DVI cable and that would work fine because its digital to digital.

Thank you, Paul. After buying the wrong adapter, VGA to USB-C and doing some research, I found there was a Display Port at the back of the computer. Not knowing that much about my monitor, I didn't realize there was an HDMI output on the monitor. When I got the new computer there was a Display Port to HDMI adapter but I didn't know what it was for. Anyway, I bought an HDMI to UBS cable at Staples and used the adapter included with the computer and all is working. I'm afraid I don't know enough to even ask the right questions. Thank you for answering and giving me more information for the future.
