Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I have bought a HP E27m G4 Conferencing Monitor, and question myself, If I can activie the available USB hub of the display as well by connecting the USB C cable to my "older" desktop PC that does not have USB C, but by using an USB C adapter to USB A that fits into my desktop computer?

Alternatively, is there any other oppurtunity to activate the USB hub of the display by existing HDMI or DP ports and cable?

Best Peter

1.  or a USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable (sold separately).

As the manual states, that will work.

2. The other way around where is host is USB A probably will not do what is hoped.

To me, this statement seems to contradict statement #1.

I would try purchasing the cable recommended in statement #1.

If it does not work, take it back to the store, and get a refund.

The only "cost" will be your time for 1 or 2 trips to the computer store.

Here is what the Setup guide says about that

USB (4)USB Type-C **
**The USB hub is enabled only if the monitor is connected to the computer via
the USB Type-C to Type-C cable (included) or a USB Type-C to USB Type-A
cable (sold separately).

I also suspect the " is there any other oppurtunity to activate the USB hub of the display by existing HDMI or DP ports and cable?" is a NO.

I would therefore conclude the USB-C connection must be to one the host can truly support.  The other way around where is host is USB A probably will not do what is hoped.

You might get what you want with this type of card in the host

Dear all,

I bought an USB A Adapter to USB C for my "old" desktop and then conncetec the included USB C to USB C. That works!  Surprisingly, speaker gets signifiantly quieter!

The solution that has been recommended by HP teleophone hotline, above mentioned should not work and I should buy a HDMI to USB C adapter and this should work by 90%. This does unfourtunatley not work!

In sum, solution found, maybe this is of help for others!
