My objective is to display and hear whatever is on my computer -mainly ZOOM meetings and videos from various sources to my non-smart TV
I am finding confusing suggestions on this.
One was to connect via HDMI. I did that, got the blue opening Windows screen but without the desktop icons displayed. It also had no sound AND I lost the sound on the PC and had a DEVIL of a time getting it back (speaker icon had a red X next to it- getting my sound back was so complicated I don't even remember how I did it!)
SO I would prefer it if I could use Chromecast or Roku, preferably the former. Can't find out if they will allow me to do that
