Product: HP All-in-One 23-r140zw

    I have a HP All-in-One 23-r140zw that I'm losing visibility on the monitor.  When I start it up about half the time it stays dark mostly, some horizontal color bars.  Another half the time the back ground photo will come up then the screen is overtaken by a dark fog within 2-3 seconds.  It'll run a few minutes then shut itself down.  A small percentage of the time it'll shutdown in just a few seconds,  Also, the power on switch blinks slowly, 

     As I final insult, I'll admit to never burning the recovery disc's.  Was always meaning to; yada, yada, yada ...  I certainly don't have knowledge or skill set to deal with this.  Just wondering if it's fixable within reason, or should I pitch...
