Envy 34a150
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to use the monitor of my ENVY 34a all-in-one as a display for an external computer. I could only get it to work by posting the machine in safe mode with low resolution graphics enabled, then increasing the resolution to a maximum of 2560x1080. If I use the native resolution (3440x1440) the display will go to sleep and any external device I've used so far seems to lock up. I looked through the drivers for the ENVY and found a HDMI input scalar board driver that hadn't been updated, but updating doesn't produce any changes.

Does anyone know how to resolve this, or failing that does anyone know what HDMI input board is used in the all in ones?

Hi @Cromagnus

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the HDMI issue.

Let's try these steps -

1) In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results.
2) In Device Manager, expand Display Adapter.
3) Right-click on the Display Adapter, and then select Uninstall device > Delete the driver software for this device check box > Uninstall.
4) Restart the computer.

Download and install the BIOS, Chipset drivers from this link
