Envy monitor power supply periodically doesn't work

HP Recommended
Envy 34"
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I have now a few times experienced that my monitor temporarily seems not to get power. I have checked power to the (external) power supple of the monitor, and that works, I checked the connectors ... but the monitor remains dead. Until suddenly it comes to life. I speculate that there must be a thermo-fuse in the power supply that overheats. Which it shouldn't ... I am at quite normal ambient temperature and the power supply is in the open. Is this maybe a generic product issue ?

Thanks you for your attention.
