HP 27es
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello dear HP community,

I've bought a HP 27es monitor some months ago. It always worked fine.
Suddenly today, while I was afk for a moment, the monitor started to flicker with black horizontal lines.

I've tried a lot of things to fix it:
1) Change HDMI cable
2) Change power cable
3) Change HDMI port
4) Change power wall outlet
5) Press the "Shutdown" monitor's button for 1 minute while unplugged from the power

6) Factory Reset

But none of them worked.

At the end, I've discovered that the flickering happens even while the monitor has no hdmi cables plugged, so the issue 100% doesn't depend on my GPU or my PC.

It still has warranty, but the idea to send it to a Repair Centre for who-knows-how-many-months  annoys me a lot, since I need it for my job.

Is there any way to fix it?
Thanks.

@Druid333, Thanks for your response and time.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

It's great to hear the issue got resolved by its own.

Yes, it could be due to electrical interferences in the house which can cause the screen to flicker.

I would suggest connect the monitor directly to the wall outlet and check if it helps.

Hey there! @Druid333, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand the monitor is flickering.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your monitor?

Please try the steps recommended below.

To change the screen resolution and refresh rate settings in Windows, do the following:
Right-click the desktop and click Display settings.
Under Customize your display, at the bottom, click Advanced display settings.
Under Related settings, click Display adapter properties.
Select the Monitor tab.
Under Screen refresh rate, select another refresh rate if available.
Click OK to save the changes.

Also, refer this article to further troubleshoot display quality issues.

If the issue still persists, please contact HP support for service options.

Hello @MrRobot, thank you for your time!
Actually, the problem solved itself without any further intervention by me.
The refresh rate wasn't the issue, I've tried it previously and didn't affect the flickering at all; also as I said, it didn't depend on my machine since the problem continued after the HDMI cable was nplugged.

Anyway, slowly, the flickering was minute by minute less strong until it return normal. Which is even weirder than the issue itself.. Could it depend on my house electrical tension? This mystery is driving me crazy ahah
