I bought my hp 27 display last year and after a few months is started at the bottom and gradually grew worse then got to your point then eventually went black.   I did every test imaginable.  so I unplugged it and put it in the corner for months    then curiousity got the better of me and I tried it again and it worked for a few months then the exact same problem started again.  so I unplugged it and set it in the corner again for a month and I've repeated this step over and over..

The issue was definitely a hardware issue

I did in fact get a private message from an HP (verified) personnel, however it was someone from social media support and sent me the link to the product page for troubleshooting. after explaining that I have done all of those and more, and that there isn't anything else I can do on my end, she replied back saying it was out of the scope of social media support.
