Thanks hp for completely ruining Christmas by being an extremely deceiving company which absolute b.s estimates.
Ordered a laptop November 22 for my wife as a welcome to the country Christmas present. We were trying to decide between this and a macbook pro. The macbook pro was on sale at the time but my wife decided she liked the hp just alittle more. So after a live chat agent gurenteed me that it would arrive well before Christmas i went ahead and customized one and ordered.
Next on the order conformation it saids estimated delivery December 21st? Thats not really well before xmess maybe i should check this out. I call customer service and once again am reassured that the laptop will arrive by Christmas.
So the day my laptop is supposed to ship which is December 16th i reach out to live chat, they tell me to come back in 24 hours because thats when it will update. I say okay no problem. I return the 17th they say 24 more hours. Then on the 18th i get a complete jerk of a customer service rep who doesnt give two craps about my order and informed me it wont arrive till after Christmas. When i complain and say how this is ridiculous that this is happening when i made sure it wasn't she goes. Oh is there anything else or is that it?
So today i received an email saying my new delivery date.... January 30th.
Now i know for a fact that you guys new by December 14th that my order had no way in hell of reaching me before Christmas because for it to get pushed back an entire month out of no where is impossible. You lied about the estimates to real in consumers during one of the busiest shopping days of the year christmas. Even if it ment those presents weren't going to get there in time you didn't care. You notified us late intentionally so that we couldn't cancel and order another laptop elsewhere. Shame on this company for practicing such selfish methods to secure sales. Ill never buy another HP product again.

@coldsummers -- just be glad that you do not live in Vancouver (BC, Canada). Late in November, ongoing rain, called an "atmospheric river" flooded-out several towns east of Vancouver, and caused 20(!) wash-ouis on Provincial Highway #5 (the "Coquihalla", as featured on the "Highway From Hell" reality-TV series).
So, this major highway, and nearby railroad lines, were cut. Fiber-optic cables between Alberta and Vancouver were damaged. Absolutely NO freight could be transported to Vancouver, and no container-ships could unload in Vancouver, for shipment of their cargo to Eastern Canada, because the trains were not running.
Obviously, this affected delivery-times for packages, and caused panic-buying of gasoline (much of which comes from Alberta).

Hello @coldsummers
I understand your anger very well, but here you are talking to volunteers mainly, we are not HP employees
It doesn't matter, what happens, or what may have happened ..
we should tell you what it is, from what I understand, it was not the case ...
all one can try is ask for help in moderation
They can try maybe to help, although it is not their function, they are not part of the same department, they do what they can.
They may try to get an HP agent to help you out, although in your situation I'm not sure how ...
I sincerely hope that this will work out for you

Sounds like a huge excuse, if they knew late November they should have done right by their customers and given a significantly more advanced notice that they wouldn't receive their order by Christmas. Not 4 days before. No I'm not going to be "thankful" for that as in looking on the bright side because this company knows what they're doing. They lied purposely and gave last minute updates a month out with no time to buy something else in order to increase the chances that people wouldn't cancel their order.

@coldsummers -- with no time to buy something else
Huh?
I just accessed the web-site for a nation-wide "big-box" consumer electronics store, and selected a Lenovo laptop (dual core, 4 threads, 8 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, 15.6 FHD screen). In an hour, I will walk-in to the store, and pick it up - TODAY -- in time for Xmas.

Thats great you're walking out with a laptop that has 4x less performance than the one i built with worse screen quality? They don't stock what i customized. It would be impossible to find a similar laptop in store that wouldn't be significantly more expensive. Had they given me notice two weeks ago i would have just ordered from another company. My brothers macbook pro arrived in a week and has similar if not better specs than the one i purchased and was only a few hundred more. Not to mention the m1 chip.

Sorry @coldsummers
I'm afraid you're wasting your time
I flagged the thread here, hoping someone can come to your rescue
But nothing guaranteed, I don't even know if we will answer you
I can't offer you anything unfortunately

@coldsummers -- with worse screen quality
Laughable. There is nothing wrong with Full HD resolution on a 15.6-inch screen.
It is a notebook computer, not a 65-inch 4K-resolution system for one's "man-cave".
To each his own. Correct?
