HAS NO DISPLAY

HP Recommended
Pavilion 23 (G4B31AA) (23-G116)

Ordered and installed a refurbished motherboard. The  refurbished motherboard did not fix the problem. Performed all Virtual Agent steps down to reseating memory and hard drive. After the bios reset step there were 8 beeps but no display of HP BIOS Update screen. Hard drive light flashes as if it is loading data. Background light is on at times but no text or image appears. Computer goes into sleep mode after about 15 to 20 minutes. Is there a good chance the display is defective? Is there any way to determine if the display is defective without buy a replacement? Tried a USB 3.0/2.0 to VGA adapter but without a screen the software can not be installed.

Hello
the easiest way
is to test the screen with another functional computer
