My monitor keeps flashing the black menu boxes. I tried holding in the menu button for 10 seconds, it says it's resetting, then it starts flashing again. I have unplugged and this helped for a while, but the flashing menu keeps coming back.

This did help temporarily, but the flashing menu comes back. I am also getting a message saying OSD lockout. I have tried to reset through the menu. I have unplugged. Could this be a virus? My monitor is only about 18 months old.

It's not a virus. Unplug the monitor's cable and both ends and then refasten it. Hold down the monitor's menu button for 30 seconds and see if that clears the flashing menu.
Check each button on the monitor for a depression and release "feel". Sometimes these buttons go bad.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately that didn't work either. I completely disconnected the monitor and held in the power button. It came up ok, now I have the OSD lockout right in the middle of my screen. Do you think my buttons have broken inside? They don't seem to be stuck at all. If the are broken, how do I get them fixed?

What model PC and video card are you using? We can try a video driver update but I really think the issue is the monitor.
How is the monitor cable to the PC? (VGA, DVI, HDMI) Are you using any adapters?
Is the monitor still under warranty?

I've got a Dell Inspiron 580S. I can't answer the rest of your questions, they're beyond my knowledge. The monitor is about 18 months old, so no warranty. The cords are in perfect shape and nothing runs between the monitor and the computer. Sorry I can't help more.
