HP Recommended

I have an HP 211x monitor that I am trying to connect to my desktop. No display, power light flashes on and off that's all that happens. 6 hours trying to get HP support with no success. Can anyone direct me to the right place? Or help me how to figure this out. Try many times on the website to enter serial number and product number and it kept rejecting them. Wow this is frustrating any help would be appreciated
