Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I also have a HP 24-0014 touch screen which after a Windows 10 update - it failed to work.  I check DEvice Manager and the HID - driver is no longer there. Has anyone found the fix. The only driver  ILITEK Touchscreen on the hp site doesnt work when downloaded.

@jkalkanis You may want to install all available windows updates, as a patch may have been released by Microsoft to resolve such issues, if there are no new updates available, please use the below steps to reinstall the touchscreen drivers from the device manager:

Step 1: Use Windows + X and select device manager.

Step 2: look for Human Interface Devices heading, and right click on the available HID-compliant touch screen, then select uninstall, when done, restart the computer.

Step 3: Update the graphics driver for your specific computer model.

For more information on updating drivers, please see HP support document Downloading or Updating Software and Drivers for HP Computers .

If issue persists, please perform a system restore: click here for steps.

Thank you so much for your response. There is no available HID-compliant touch screen to uninstall in the Device Manager under HID.  Is there anything else I can try. I updated all the Window 10 updates.

Thank  you Again!!

hHope to hear back from you !!

@jkalkanis that could mean the device is not being detected anymore, or the driver is corrupt, the best way to confirm the same is to restart the device and tap F10 during the boot, access the BIOS screen, and check if the touchscreen works while you are in BIOS, if it does, it would mean the issue is software related, and a system restore, or a recovery could resolve the issue, however, if it doesn't work in BIOS, it's a hardware malfunction and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

here's how private messages work: Click here for details.

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
