HP 27 Curved Display
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

We've had this monitor setup as a second display for over a year.  This week it has started randomly flashing to black screen appearing to be off or black screen (but the power is not actually going off).  It stays black more than it stays on.  clicking the mouse on the screen does not have an impact so its not going to sleep.  It is connected to an iMAC computer.  We switched the monitor over to another computer with different connector and the display works fine. We thought that is could be the mini display port to HDMI connector and replaced it but the display still does it.  Any ideas what is causing this?

@PKS2019,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

As you have mentioned that the monitor works fine on a different computer and it confirms that the monitor is working fine.

I recommend you try connecting the monitor directly (Without the adapter) to the Mac and check.

HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, newer Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display to most HP LCD monitors. The monitor should operate at 60Hz. The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
