hp pavilion 24-k0012na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just recently bought an all in one HP Pavilion 24-k0012na for a project I'm working on.  I've set it up with a 2nd monitor via the HDMI out and it works great in extended mode.  I have another (3rd) monitor available to me which is not connected to anything at the moment.  I can't use the USB-C port because that doesn't support "alt mode" and won't send a video signal - I've already tried this even though I knew the outcome would be a failure.

My question is - could I use a "USB3 to HDMI adapter" on my all in one HP Pavilion desktop (model 24-k0012na) so that I could have a 3rd monitor in extended mode?   It may seem a bit overkill, but it would be nice to be able to use that spare monitor and have three screens available.  I've read this is not possible in some all-in-one desktops but can't find out for definite if it is the case with mine.

Thanks for any input on this.

Hi,

Yes.

You will need a converter (with Displaylink) to add another monitor

Example

Hope it helps,

David
