I connecting a second monitor to my HP-Touchsmart via an HDMI cable. The 2nd monitor gets connected but the resolution is only 800x600. the drop-down menu is not active. Has anyone been through this before?

- When was the last time the computer was working fine?
- What is the make and model of the monitor?
- What is the resolutions supported by the monitor?
- What is the exact model for your computer?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
- Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.
If you continue facing the issue, I recommend you download and install the monitor driver from the manufacturer website.
