Envy 32
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

All of a sudden my hP Envy monitor is not recognized by my computer.  The monitor is on, and connected through a dock - all other peripherals (keyboard, printer etc) are working fine so I don't think the docking is the problem.  Happened after a microsoft update I think - tried to rerecognize and doesn't see it.  Thanks in advance.

@Tvillinger, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Connect another display to the computer to determine which device has the problem (the display or the computer).

You can try performing a system restore on the PC and reset BIOS. In case an item was changed in the BIOS, such as the primary display device setting, use one of the following sections to reset the BIOS back to its default configuration:

1. Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key for eight seconds.

2. Press the Down arrow three times.

3. Press the Enter key two times.

4.  Restart the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I don't have another display to connect, as this is in my home office.  I did try another cable - same problem, so it's not the cable.

@Tvillinger

Do you get any sound or see any lights blinking on the display when the computer is powered on?

If you have a laptop, connect it to the monitor and see if that works.

Keep me posted.
