hp env yCurved All-in-one PC 34-b0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After about 20 minutes of operation, vertical ( static ) bars approx 25cm wide are displayed right across my monitor.

Have installed latest drivers to no avail. This AIO is approx 14 months old, but the problem started about 6 months ago on random occasions,

Have to shut-down, restart and ( hope ) it doesn't occur again .

Thank you for joining the HP Community.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Try connecting to a different monitor and check if you are facing the same issue?

Check if you are facing the same issue on the BIOS page to make sure if it is a hardware issue.

Follow the below steps to boot into the BIOS page.

1. Turn on or restart the computer.

2. While the display is blank, press the f10 key to enter the BIOS settings menu.

If the issue persists, this could be a hardware issue.

If not, I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also, ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Refer to this document: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01881110 for Troubleshooting Screen Issues.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

Call HP ASAP and log a warranty call mate. Since you're in Australia, HP will still offer warranty even though it's over the 12 months.

It's most likely the mainboard (on board graphics chip) may could also be the screen itself. Cost prohibitive to fix once it's out of warranty.
