NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Envy AIO 27-b2XX pc will not use the installed NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card. It will only use the onboard Intel UHD Graphics 630 adaptor or the Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor.

Device Manager shows both the Intel UHD Graphics 630 and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Display Adaptors present. Both devices show that they are connected, enabled and state 'The device is working properly'.

HP Support Assistant shows both Graphics devices in the Specifications. Graphics device 1 is the Intel UHD Graphics 630 and Graphics device 2 is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050.

NVIDIA Control Panel shows that the PhysX is connected to the Intel UHD Graphics 630. It will not switch to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 even though I have selected it as the PHysX processor. The preferred graphics process in the Global Settings is set to 'High-performance NVIDAI processor, Image Settings are set to 'Let the 3D application decide'

In Windows Advanced display settings, only 'Display1: Connected to Intel UHD Graphics 630' is shown. There is no option to switch Display Adaptors.

I have tried Disabling the Intel UHD Grphics 630 display adaptor in the Device Manager and restarting my computer, but that switches the display to the Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor. The NVIDIA Control Panel then shows only the NVDIA GeForce GTX 1050 display adaptor, but the PhysX does not show that it is connected to it.

I have made sure that both adaptors are using the latest firmware/drivers. Nothing I do will let the pc use the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Graphics Card as the Display Adaptor.

Hi@DDEvans17, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Apologize for the issue with the display drivers. We understand it's an HP Envy All In One 27-b2XX l,et's try a few troubleshooting steps to fix the issue.

Check for the BIOS Update?

Tried Adding the game to High performances in the Nivida control panel?

Download GEFORCE EXPERIENCE updates the gaming drivers.

Turn on Game Mode. Game Mode is a new feature in Windows 10 Update that improves gaming performance by limiting background processes and programs from using system resources while a game is running.

Press the Windows key and G to open the Game bar.

In the game bar, click Settings.

Click the check box next to the game title to enable Game Mode for that game.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
