HP Envy 360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Please help. Just bought the HP Envy and for the first time tried to use the camera for a zoom call but the quality is dire.

Does the Envy has an IR camera as there does not seem to be one loaded and would this make a difference? I have spent a lot of money on this laptop and need a good quality webcam. I have tried everything to improve it from advice on the web but nothing has improved it.

@YvonneD

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  1. in File Explorer, navigate to the picture or video.

  2. Right-click the picture or video.

  3. Click Properties.

  4. Select the Details tab and see the webcam resolution.

    Details tab showing resolution

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

OK, so I went to the details and see the image size is 1280x720 and the resolution is 96 x 96 dpi.  The camera is set at the highest available quality - 1280x720.  The image is unacceptable grainy.

Is there a solution to this or does this just mean I have a crappy low res camera in this laptop (an Envy 13)?

I'm just getting back to this issue now.  I went to the link you provided and don't know which of the links on the page correspond to the Support and Support Engineers link you referred to.

Can you clarify please?

Thanks.
