Hi @blue-moon,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Certainly, I can guide you through managing your desktop icons on a Windows 11 system and also help you with docking station options for your HP Laptop 15s-fq2041TU.
Managing Desktop Icons on Windows 11
To organize your desktop icons more effectively, you can use folders or the built-in Windows 11 features. Here are some methods:
Creating a Folder for HP Icons:
- Right-click on your desktop, choose New, then select Folder.
- Name the folder appropriately, for example, "HP Tools".
- Drag and drop all your HP-related icons into this folder. This way, all HP icons will be in one place, making your desktop cleaner.
Using Desktops (Virtual Desktops):
- Windows 11 allows you to create multiple virtual desktops, which can help you organize your applications and icons more effectively.
- To add a virtual desktop, click on the Task View icon on the taskbar (or press Win + Tab) and then click New desktop. You can dedicate one desktop to your HP applications.
Auto-arrange Icons:
- Right-click on the desktop, go to View, and ensure that Auto arrange icons is unchecked if you prefer to manually place your icons. If it's checked, Windows will automatically arrange icons for you.
Docking Station Compatibility
For your HP Laptop 15s-fq2041TU, you're looking for a docking station that can support two Samsung monitors via HDMI. When choosing a docking station, ensure it has:
- Sufficient Video Outputs: Make sure it has at least two HDMI ports or other ports (like DisplayPort) with adapters for HDMI.
- Power Delivery (Optional): Some docks can charge your laptop while connected, which is convenient.
- USB Ports: For connecting peripherals such as a mouse, keyboard, or external storage.
- Compatibility: Check if the dock supports Windows 11 and has drivers available.
Recommended Docking Stations
While specific model recommendations can vary based on availability and your specific needs, here are general types that should work:
HP Universal Docking Stations: HP offers universal docks compatible with most of their laptops, including models with USB-C or USB 3.0 connectivity. Check for one that supports dual HDMI outputs.
Third-party USB-C Docks: Brands like Dell, Anker, and Plugable offer universal USB-C docks that work with a wide range of laptops, including HP models. Ensure the dock you choose supports dual monitors with the appropriate outputs.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
