HP All-in-One PC 22-df2000i (66G40AV)

My HP All-in-One PC screen keeps flickering and I'm not sure what to do to fix it or the cause. It has been doing it for a while now

Hi @BlueJae622 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Screen flickering on an HP All-In-One PC can be caused by various factors, and it's essential to troubleshoot to identify the root cause. Here are some steps you can take to address the issue:

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can cause screen flickering. Make sure your graphics drivers are up-to-date. You can do this by going to the HP support website, entering your PC model, and downloading the latest graphics drivers.

Adjust Screen Refresh Rate:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
  • Scroll down to the "Advanced display settings."
  • Change the refresh rate to a different value and see if it helps. You may need to experiment with different rates to find the one that works best.

Check for Malware or Viruses:

  • Run a full system scan using your installed antivirus software to check for any malware or viruses that might be causing the issue.

Boot into Safe Mode:

  • Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode. If the flickering stops in Safe Mode, it might be indicative of a software or driver-related issue.

Disable Hardware Acceleration:

  • If the flickering occurs while using specific applications (web browsers, for example), try disabling hardware acceleration in those applications' settings.

Check for External Interference:

  • Ensure that there are no electronic devices or appliances near your PC that could be causing interference. Move away any electronic devices and see if the problem persists.

Inspect Display Cables:

  • If your PC has an external display, check the cables connecting the PC to the display. Make sure they are securely connected. If possible, try using different cables.

Run Windows Update:

  • Make sure your operating system is up-to-date by running Windows Update. Sometimes, Microsoft releases updates that address display-related issues.

System Restore:

  • If the issue started recently, you might consider using System Restore to revert your system to a state when the flickering was not occurring.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
