I've had my HP Pavillion HPE & its display since they were purchased new, all original HP hardware.

System 7, 64 bit (as came with the computer when purchased)

The display now goes dark for a few seconds, then back on, cyling back and forth between functioning as a display and going dark.

i've already gone through the usual procedures . . . checked the display cable, etc.

For awhile, powering down, and then reactivating the display seemed to solve the problem, temporarily.

But now it's getting much worse.

Could this be a driver problem?

This is becoming very frustrating.

Any help you can provide is appreciated (please don't repeat the same stock answers already posted here, I've already been through all that)

Thank you for your assistance

@charles000,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

What is the exact model for your computer and the monitor?

I recommend you connect the computer to a different monitor or to your TV and check whether the display works fine on the TV.

Also, I recommend you update the BIOS and graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
