Hp Elite E27d G4 Monitor
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Hi, I am currently thinking of purchasing an HP E27d G4 monitor (with webcam) to replace my current HP S2331a 23" monitor. I am attracted to it as my current desktop, Mac Mini 2017, MacOS 10.13.6 High Sierra, will drive this monitor (indeed up to 2 of them), at its maximum resolution of 2560X1440, but unfortunately not a UHD (4K) monitor. Having recently bought my daughter (MacBook Air 2017) an HP E24m (with webcam) for her (now remote and from home) studies I know that the upstream port is required for the webcam, microphones,  and downstream USB ports to function. On the E24m the upstream port is USB 3.0, but on the E27d it is USB-C,  which is stated also to provide 100W Power to the attached device (e.g. HP Notebook with USB-C for charging).  My Mac ports for webcam video and audio in are USB 3.0 and I do not want to fry either the Mac or the powered USB 3.0 hub to which I would attach via an USB 3.0 to USB-C  Adapter such as this [https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/product/satechi-usb-30-zu-274cm-notebook-adapters-12499340?gclsrc=aw.ds... which is stated to pass through data and USB 3 power but not USB-C power. Am I safe in doing this?

Thanks for any advice. Trevor J. Petcher
