What is the HDMI Button on the back of the desktop used for? When I push it, it powers on and stays on HP logo. It does nothing else. What is its purpose? Thank You

Then issue  is other than the button.

I don't think this is a motherboard, if it was a motherboard error, it doesn't show logo, probably the error is a disk or memory error, make a test, when you turn on the PC press the F2 key several times, go to diagnostics and make a test of the memory and disk and see if it passes or gives a failure ID.

Hi @jaketothebone

The PC has an HDMI-IN port if you want to use it as an external monitor you must use that port and then press the button.

OK Thank You. If I am using HDMI Out to HDMI In in another computer as a display, I do not need to use that button, correct?

Also, another issue I am having, and others seem to be having. When I power unit on, I get HP logo looks like everything is loading then screen goes black, and I get no signal unit stays powered on.

Thanks

I don't understand very well, does it have a black screen when you turn on the PC?

About the button, in theory you should press maybe it is now on but when you don't want it on you should press the button again.

No it is not a black screen when I turn it on. I get the HP logo and then the circle below the logo like windows in loading then screen goes blank and does not come back with any video. I am considering a new motherboard.

Thanks

I have been researching this board and I think the problem is the latest BIOS has issues with Samsung SSD's? I switched to a different brand and so far so good.
