I am operating Windows 10 on my HP Envy 700-047c.  I have never done video conferencing and attempted to join a meeting using Zoom.  I was able to join audio, and see the other members.  However, my camera was not working.  When I tried to troubleshoot it, I was told that a camera was not detected.  And further checks suggested a driver problem.  I am unsure how to proceed.

@ronher you may need to reinstall the webcam driver to fix this issue, here's a list of steps that should resolve the issue, once and for all:

Open Device Manager (Windows button + X) > right-click on the device > select Properties > switch to Driver tab > click on Uninstall Device button.

Restart your computer and then open Device Manager again and click on Action > Scan for hardware changes. (this would automatically reinstall the best drivers for it)

Once done, I suggest you install all the latest pending Windows updates as below and check if it helps.

  1. Go to “settings” and click( on “update and security”.
  2. Under tab “Windows update”, click on the icon “check for updates”.
  3. Then once you find the pending updates install it and check.
