The webcam on my Pavilion All-In-One is an in-built pop-up unit, and has recently stopped working.
On troubleshooting I noticed that the webcam is only detected by the PC (verified via the Device Manager) that it is active and working properly if the camera is recessed into its slot (down position) which should be when its OFF. When I pull up, into its ON position, the PC believes that the webcam is not connected and is disappears from the Device Manager.
I tried to update the driver and the system says the current driver is the correct one.
I have avoided uninstalling the driver because the HP site does not recognize my PC as supporting Windows 11 (it shipped with Windows 10 when new and auto updated to Windows 11 two years later), so I do not want to be stuck without an option to get a new driver to install, should I uninstall.
My PC is 3 years old and obviously out of warranty.
