Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I  tried to connect my external monitor using HDMI-DVI connector.

System is not detecting another monitor.

hp laptop also does not show advanced display settings.

i ve tried these steps and it doesn't work.

1. press the Windows logo key + P (Or Fn key + F4) and check if the setting is chosen to “Extend” the screen or to “Duplicate” the screen.

2. If the screen is extended, but still facing issues, try additional steps listed here: http://hp.care/2s7PlXy

pl advise. thank you.

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I understand that your HP Notebook is not detecting your external monitor through the HDMI-DVI connector.

I'll try my best to help.

I see that you have already follow the instructions in the Link you provided.

Have you tried connecting this Monitor to another Notebook or computer to rule out any issues with the HDMI-DVI connector.

I suggest you update the Graphics driver from Device Manager

- In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
- In the list of devices, look for Graphics driver and expand the list
- Right-click the driver and select Update Driver Software.
- Click Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated driver.
- Restart your computer to complete the installation of the updates.

Then update the BIOS from this Link: http://hp.care/2G3PCEu

Also ensure that your Windows OS is up to date

Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.

Please try these steps and keep me posted how it goes

Thank you. 🙂

I have tried all suggestions on this site and I still cannot detect my external display. The latest drivers have been installed and Windows has been updated.

I have read throught this thread and am not convinced it applies to my notebook.  I have and HP 15-da0031nr that refuses to detect a second monitor.  I updated the video driver and Win 10 64 bit is 100% up to date.  I have tried two different monitors with 2 different HDMI cables.  It does see my LG wireless TV which is 50 feet away on a different level in my home.
