HP v28
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop is only capable of 4k resolution at 30hz. I just bought the HP v28 4k monitor and it does not seem to have an option to run at 30hz. I've tried changing my refresh rate to 30hz in advanced display settings, but my only options are 59hz or 60hz. There are options for 30 at lower resolutions, but it seems the monitor isn't capable of downgrading the refresh rate for 4k. Is that the case? Is there another driver I need?

I have an LG 4k monitor that automatically detects 4k 30hz when I use it with the same laptop.

Thanks,

I reviewed your post and I understand that the monitor is not working on 30Hz 4k.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you download and install the monitor driver from the below link and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

That did not help. I still have no option for 4k when viewing "List All Modes" in the Display Adapter properties for the display within Advanced Display settings. The only options for 30hz are lower resolution. The list appears unchanged from before installing the driver.

Then the monitor doesn't support 4k at 30Hz. You need to use a lower resolution if you want to run the monitor at 30Hz.
