HP All-In-One Desktop System
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have been trying to use various meeting applications (like Zoom) but no one can hear me.  I even tried plugging in a headset/microphone from an old Xbox system into the microphone port on the side of the system, but it doesn't work either.

Can someone please help me?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Hello, I have this same issue. If I plug in my headphones (that has a microphone built into them) into my HP Spectre X360  laptop others cannot hear me, but I can hear them. I have tried other headphones with microphones and it still does the same thing.

Things I have done: I have checked for updates already and I have made sure that my apps have permission to use my headset microphone, but it does not work. The regular laptop microphone works, but not when I plug anything into the laptop that headset microphone won't work. (I hope I made this clear, I have yet to find a solution online)

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • Step 1: Check the microphone hardware (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)
  • Step 2: Update the audio driver
  • Step 3: Use the Troubleshooting tool
  • Step 4: Configure the sound settings in Windows
  • Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03421813 to complete the troubleshooting step.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
